Fine Thanks Gallery – Torquay Exhibition, 2022
In December 2022, Tal Lemmens was invited to exhibit as part of a collaborative show celebrating ocean photography at Fine Thanks Gallery in Torquay, Victoria. The exhibition opened on December 8 and ran for a full month, drawing in locals and visitors alike with its coastal energy and contemporary curation.
Conveniently located next to Sou’west Brewery, Fine Thanks Gallery offered a uniquely Surf Coast cultural experience — merging art, ocean, and lifestyle in a relaxed but refined setting.
Ahead of the exhibition, Tal’s work was featured on the front page of the Geelong Advertiser on December 5, 2022, highlighting the upcoming show and his contribution to the Surf Coast’s creative scene.
The theme of the exhibition was a shared interpretation of the ocean — a visual exploration of what it means to be "salty." For Tal, the term carries personal resonance and creative depth:
"Salty is a term of endearment from an ocean-loving coastal community. It’s a reminder of a hot day at the beach, floating amongst the swell, admiring nature’s raw beauty, or chasing waves — whether with a camera or a board. It’s part of who we are."
