A Custom Seascape Art Installation in Ocean Grove, VIC
In the heart of Ocean Grove, on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula, art and architecture have met in perfect harmony. Homeowners John and Tara recently collaborated with award-winning ocean photographer Tal Lemmens to install a bespoke fine art collection in their newly built coastal residence — a space specifically designed to showcase seascape photography.
The final installation includes four of Tal’s signature pieces:
Precipice — a Special Prize recipient at the Vienna International Photo Awards
Cthulhu — a moody, textural work evoking the mythical power of the ocean
Torsion — a new addition to Tal’s portfolio, graciously named by John himself
Each photograph was carefully selected in consultation with Tal to complement the home’s architectural lines and coastal aesthetic. Benjamin Hoffman Art Services executed the professional installation, ensuring each work aligned perfectly within custom-designed inset wall sections — a striking and seamless integration of photography and space.
“The goal was to bring character and movement into the home without overwhelming the architectural simplicity,” said Tal. “John and Tara’s vision allowed the artwork to breathe and their home has become an extension of the sea itself.”
From the warmth of the timber frames to the visual rhythm of the prints, the collection tells a story of coastal living, elemental forces, and refined taste. These artworks now serve as visual anchors in the home — drawing guests into a world shaped by wind, tide, and light.
This custom project is a reminder that fine art photography can be both deeply personal and profoundly architectural. Whether you’re building a new space or seeking to transform an existing one, Tal offers personalised art consulting and commissioned installations tailored to your vision.
