Surf Coast Arts Trail Debut: A Heartfelt Thank You from Tal Lemmens
Tal Lemmens, an award-winning ocean and seascape photographer based in Torquay, extends his deepest thanks to everyone who visited his debut exhibition during the Surf Coast Arts Trail 2025.
Held at Ocean Grind, the event was Tal’s first time participating in the regional arts trail, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Visitors from across the Surf Coast and beyond came through the doors to connect with Tal’s photography — purchasing artwork, sharing stories, and showing support for local creativity.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the energy and enthusiasm people brought over the weekend,” said Tal. “Events like the Arts Trail are a vital way for artists to connect with collectors and the broader community. I was genuinely stoked by the turnout and the warm response to my work.”
Special thanks go to Mark and the team at Ocean Grind for hosting Tal’s exhibition in their vibrant café space. “Their hospitality was amazing — and the coffee was next level, as always,” Tal said. “Ocean Grind was the perfect backdrop for my seascape photography.”
Adding to the momentum, Tal was featured on the front page of the Geelong Advertiser in a special Arts Trail piece written by photojournalist Brad Fleet. The article spotlighted Tal’s photographic style and growing profile within the Surf Coast arts community.
“Being on the cover of the Addy was a surreal and special moment,” said Tal. “Big thanks to Brad Fleet and the editorial team for the feature — it’s an honour to be recognised in that way.”
As the weekend wraps, Tal reflects on what it means to be part of this creative community. “Whether you bought a print or just dropped in for a chat — thank you. Your interest and support mean the world to me and fuel what I do.”
For those who missed the event, Tal’s work remains available for viewing and purchase via his online store, with more exhibitions and announcements coming soon.
